Welcome to the website of the Tamworth Christadelphian Church. May God bless you richly through His love in Christ Jesus.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever belives in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

We are a small, friendly, Bible-based community  who meet in Dosthill, Tamworth.  Part of the worldwide Christadelphian movement, there has been a Christadelphian Church in Tamworth for over 100 years.

We pray that this little website may help you to draw closer to God and His wonderful Son, Jesus.

Christian Life

As Christians we believe that following Jesus is the way that God wants all mankind to live.  Here are just a few sayings from the New Testament describing what life in Christ should be like:

  • Life-affirming
“I have come that they may life, and have it to the full.” – Jesus
  • Liberating
“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” – Jesus
  • Unifying
“There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus” – Apostle Paul
  • Empowering
“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” – Apostle John

  • Challenging
“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.” – Jesus
  • Refreshing
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” – Jesus
  • Comforting
“Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give  you the kingdom.” – Jesus
  • Victorious
“I can do all things through him who strengthens me”- Apostle Paul

About Christadelphians

The name “Christadelphians” comes from a New Testament Greek phrase meaning “brothers (and sisters) in Christ”.

In the end, we are just ordinary folk trying our best to serve God and follow Jesus.  We don’t claim to be perfect, or to know all the answers. But we look forward to the day when all will be made perfect in God’s Kingdom.  We would be very happy to share our faith with you.

If you would like to find out more about us, we would be delighted to hear from you.

The Bible and Science

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)

The Bible is not a science textbook.  It is God’s revelation about Himself, written in a style accessible for all human eras.  Science is the study of the physical functioning of the natural world which God has made, and does not concern itself with spiritual truths or matters outside of the ordinary laws of nature.

Science and the Bible address different subjects and do not have to be in conflict.  However, they are often presented as being mutually exclusive and there is a wide range of opinion amongst Christians as to the validity of scientific knowledge.  This can be very confusing for the would-be Christian.

If you feel that the Science-Bible debate is an obstacle to your faith, or if you are interested in studying this further, the following are a few quality sites where highly qualified scientists explain how belief in God and respect for scientific discovery can walk hand in hand. Take a look at the websites below.
